Authorisation

By default, you only have access to public data and/or non-shielded data. If you also want to view non-public data and/or shielded data, you need to arrange authorisation and provide a certificate.

1. Request an API subscription

To use the KVK APIs, you need an API subscription. Already have one? Then you can go to step 2.

2. Apply for authorisation

3. Provide a certificate

Once authorisation has been granted, you can submit a certificate.

  • Log in to My Developer Portal.
  • Click on the "API-key" box.
  • Here you will find an overview of the granted authorisations and an option to upload a certificate.
  • Upload a certificate that meets the correct requirements. Read more about certificates.
  • Has the certificate been approved? Then you can immediately view non-public and/or shielded data.

Frequently asked questions about authorisation

There are different types of authorisations. These all provide access to different types of data in the Business Register.

Non-public data is Business Register data that is not provided by default, such as citizen service number (BSN), signatures, telephone number, or place of birth. Shielded data is data the business owner has chosen to shield. For example, the visiting address.
